Chucky is the newest killer in Dead by Daylight, arriving in a blaze of foulmouthed and gruesome glory. With a strong mixture of stealth and chase mechanics – notably his Slice & Dice ability – he is already amongst the strongest killers in the game.
By supplementing his base mechanics with the right combination of perks and add-ons, he can become an unstoppable killing machine.
So, let’s take a look at some of our favourite builds and add-ons for Chucky.
Chucky’s Beginner Build: Non-teachable Perks Only
Dead by Daylight has amassed a legendary roster of 34 killers, with even more to come. It’s time consuming – and expensive – to earn the teachable perks on every killer. So, we’ve put together our favourite Chucky build for beginners, which only includes non-teachable perks and Chucky’s perks.
Sloppy Butcher
Wounds inflicted by basic attacks cause survivors to suffer from haemorrhage and mangled status effects. Increases the bleeding frequency of injured survivors by 100%, and the regression rate of partial Healing Progression loss by 25%.
Friends ’til the End
When you hook a survivor that is not the obsession, the obsession’s aura is revealed for 10 seconds, and they suffer from the exposed status effect for 20 seconds. When you hook the obsession, a random survivor becomes the new obsession and screams (revealing their location to the killer).
Hex: No One Escape Death
Once the exit gates are powered (all generators are completed), the hex activates on a random Dull Totem. The hex increases your movement speed by 4%, and survivors suffer from a permanent exposed status effect until a survivor cleanses the hex.
Bitter Murmur
Each time a generator is completed, the auras of all survivors within 16 metres of the generator are revealed for 5 seconds. When the last generator is completed, the auras of all survivors are revealed for 10 seconds.
This beginner build gives you a good mixture of aura-reading and exposure perks, with Bitter Murmur and Friends ‘til the End providing solid aura-reading throughout the match. Sloppy Butcher is just an all-round great perk, as it makes the healing speed of survivors super slow – which is great for a chase-focused killer like Chucky.
And if the survivors do end up completing the generators, Hex: No One Escape Death gives you a second chance to get some easy downs in the endgame.
Whilst most of the general perks aren’t all that great, there’s some which work well for new Chucky players, such as:
- Batteries Included: move 5% faster when within 12 metres of a completed generator.
- Unrelenting: reduces the cool-down of missed basic attacks by 30%.
Chucky’s Meta Build – The Best Build for Chucky
If you are looking to maximise Chucky’s power, and win as many matches as possible, it sounds like you’ll want to use Chucky’s meta build.
As with lots of killers in the game, the meta build relies upon generator slowdown and regression perks. This makes it tough for survivors to finish generators and gives the killer more time for chase and down survivors.
Pop Goes the Weasel
After hooking a survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for 45 seconds. Kicking a generator will instantly regress it by 30% of its current Progression.
Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage
4 random hooks are changed into scourge hooks. Whenever a survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook, the auras of all other survivors are revealed for 7 seconds.
Corrupt Intervention
At the start of the trial, the 3 generators located furthest from you are blocked for 120 seconds. The perk deactivates prematurely once the first survivor is downed.
Deadlock
Whenever a generator is completed, the entity blocks the generator with the highest progression for 30 seconds. Also, the aura of this generator is revealed to you in white.
Chucky’s Chase Build
Our third and final build revolves around Chucky’s chase power. Chucky’s already pretty strong at chase – with his Slice & Dice ability. Furthermore, he can scamper under pallets which provides a unique element to his chase gameplay. So, this build makes Chucky unstoppable in chase.
Coup de Grace
Whenever a generator is completed, you gain 2 tokens. By holding down the attack button, your lunge distance will increase by 80%, using 1 token. You can hold a maximum of 5 tokens at a time.
Barbecue and Chilli
After hooking a survivor, reveals the auras of all survivors that are at least 40 metres away from that hook.
Bamboozle
After vaulting a window, the entity will block that window for survivors for 16 seconds. Increase your general vaulting speed by 15%.
Lethal Pursuer
At the start of the trial, reveals the auras of all survivors for 9 seconds. Also, extends the duration of any aura-reading effects on survivors by 2 seconds.
This build helps Chucky maintain pressure in chase, and also to find new survivors to chase. Chucky doesn’t have any built-in aura-reading mechanics, so it’s definitely an area that this build helps with.
Coup de Grace complements Chucky’s Slice & Dice really well. If the ability is on cooldown, Coup de Grace acts as a back-up long-range lunge attack.
And finally, Bamboozle blocks windows when you vault a window, granting you an easy hit – especially when combined with Coup de Grace or Slice & Dice.
Other Chucky Builds
Here are some other builds that work well on pretty much every killer, including Chucky.
End-game Build: No Way Out, Hex: No One Escapes Death, Save the Best for Last, Bitter Murmur
Generator Regression Build: Eruption, Pop Goes the Weasel, Nowhere to Hide, Surge
Hex Build: Hex: Devour Hope, Hex: Undying, Hex: Haunted Grounds, Hex: Plaything
Best Add-ons for Chucky
Unfortunately, Chucky’s purple and iridescent add-ons do not drastically change his gameplay in the way that Judith’s Tombstone does for Myers, for example.
As such, Chucky’s add-ons which reduce the cooldown for Hidey-Ho Mode and increase the duration of Slice & Dice are his best (in our opinion).
Yardstick
Performing a scamper reveals the auras of all survivors within 12 metres for 5 seconds.
When scampering under a pallet, it can be easy to lose the location of the survivor that you are chasing. The Yardstick add-on helps you to continue chasing survivors after scampering under a pallet.
Portable TV
Extends the duration of Slice & Dice to 170% once the exit gates have been powered (all generators completed).
This add-on massively buffs Chucky’s main chase ability in the end-game. Slice & Dice’s duration is increased by a huge 70%, letting you close down more distance and hit survivors from further. This could make the difference between a survivor escaping and dying.
Power Drill
Reduces the cool-down duration of Hidey-Ho Mode by 15% after successful Slice & Dice attacks.
The Power Drill add-on lets Chucky keep up pressure by reducing the cool-down of Hidey-Ho Mode. This means that Chucky can use his Slice & Dice ability much sooner, potentially making a big difference in chase.
Jump Rope
Extends the duration of Slice & Dice to 108% of its default duration.
The Jump Rope add-on increases the lethality of Slice & Dice, letting Chucky make more distance and down survivors from further.
Electric Carving Knife
Reduces the cool-down duration of missed Slice & Dice attacks to 95% of their default duration.
It can be frustrating to miss your Slice & Dice attacks, as there’s a long cool-down before you can use the ability again. The Electric Carving Knife add-on makes missed attacks slightly less punishing.
Well, that’s our guide on the best builds and add-ons for Chucky! We encourage you to try out a wide variety of builds, and to have fun playing the new killer.
