Funko Pop Designs of The Wraith and The Doctor

Dead by Daylight has announced via Twitter that their long-awaited DBD Funko Pop collaboration has been cancelled despite being announced nearly 2 years ago and are no longer releasing to the public.

Dead by Daylight’s Twitter has posted ‘We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, our previously announced Dead by Daylight Funko Pop partnership will sadly not see the light of day’.

The official Twitter account continues in a follow-up Tweet to acknowledge that many fans might be feeling disappointed, but assured them that there are ‘plenty more exciting collaborations on the way’.

What were the Funko Pop Designs?

The DBD Funko Pop collaboration would have seen iconic killers and survivors being turned into Funko Pop figures, which are amongst the most popular collectable figurines. They were announced in May 2021 at the end of their anniversary stream. Killers such as The Doctor, The Huntress, The Wraith and the survivor Claudette were confirmed to be on the way in the first batch of Funko Pops, with many fans hoping to see even more in the future. Sadly, their release has now been cancelled, and the DBD Funko Pops will presumably never see the light of day.

Why are the DBD Funko Pops cancelled?

It is unknown why the DBD Funko Pop collaboration did not work out in the end, but Dead by Daylight’s Tweet indicates that it was out of their control. Originally announced all the way back in 2021, game director Mathieu Côté reconfirmed that DBD Funko Pops would arrive in 2022 during the 6th anniversary livestream. The collaboration clearly went through a tumultuous production phase, with several different release dates and then finally the cancellation was announced on 24 February 2023.

Don’t fret however, if you are looking for something DBD-related, maybe check out the boardgame that is coming out later this year.
